Colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid. Boiling point: 102-103 ℃ (0.53kPa). Dissolve in toluene, acrylic ester, methyl methacrylate, etc. Easy to mix with resin, high triggering efficiency, good thermal stability, no yellowing phenomenon, and stable storage. The absorption wavelength of ultraviolet light is 260-360nm.

Application
1173 is the most successful type of photoinitiator and one of the most widely used non yellowing photoinitiators, with a maximum absorption wavelength of 331nm. A photo curable adhesive is prepared by combining with polyester, acrylic ester, reactive diluent, etc. However, in the unsaturated polyester/styrene system, the photo initiation efficiency of HMPP is actually inferior to that of benzoin ether photo initiators. It can also be used in water-based UV curing systems. The reference dosage is 1.0% to 5.0%. For occasions with strict odor requirements, this photoinitiator is not suitable because residual initiators are prone to volatilization, and the photolysis of initiators produces trace amounts of benzaldehyde and acetone, which can cause excessive odor.
