Application
Application Fields of Photoinitiator TPO
1、 UV curable coating
White system and thick coating curing
TPO, due to its long wave absorption characteristics (350-420nm) and photobleaching effect, can penetrate high titanium dioxide (TiO ₂) pigment layers, achieving complete curing of white coatings and thick film coatings. It is suitable for floor coatings, plastic coatings, wood coatings and other scenarios.
Low yellowing transparent coating
After photolysis, there is no residue and the post polymerization effect is low, making it suitable for formulations with transparent coatings and low odor requirements, such as optical fiber coatings, optical disc coatings, etc.
2、 Printing ink
Screen printing and flexographic ink
Widely used in screen printing ink, planographic printing ink, and flexographic printing ink, especially when used alone in unsaturated polyester systems containing styrene, it can efficiently initiate polymerization.
Compatibility of Colored Systems
By compounding with amines (such as acrylamide) or other photoinitiators (such as 184, benzophenone), the curing problem of colored systems (especially dark colors) can be solved.
3、 Industrial adhesives and composite materials
UV curable adhesive
Used for photoresist, photoresist, photopolymerization printing plates and composite materials, fast curing and suitable for low volatility water-based systems.
Special material processing
High initiation efficiency is achieved in optical fiber coatings, stereolithography resins, and dental fillings.
4、 Other fields
Circuit board and functional coating
Used for circuit board photopolymerization solder mask ink, paper coating and anti rust coating, with thermal stability (does not decompose below 85 ℃).
Environmentally friendly process
Combining environmentally friendly synthesis methods to meet the industrial needs of low pollution and low energy consumption.
Summary of application characteristics
Efficient initiation: Photolysis generates double free radicals (benzoyl, phosphoryl), with fast curing speed.
Formula flexibility: It can be used alone or combined with MOB 240, CBP 393, etc. to improve efficiency.
Suggested dosage: 0.5-3.0% for colored systems and 0.3-2.0% for transparent systems.
Through the adaptability and technological advantages in multiple fields mentioned above, TPO has become one of the core initiators in the UV curing industry
